A Ton of Feathers
Playwright, Actor
At 13, Jenny is fascinated by life.
Every thought she has is shared and every question needs an answer.
When she is set a history project to delve into women of the past her curiosity sparks alight.
Until her research informs her that being a girl isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be.
With her eyes suddenly open, Jenny tries to navigate this new world filled with new rules she can’t wrap her head around.
Combined with school, friends, flirting?
When did 13 get so hard?
A Ton of Feathers is a coming of age story that explores the mishaps, mistakes and many pressures that teenage girls face.
Always asking the question: How do we keep that spark alive?

Created as a part of NSDF LAB, Sarah Richardson and Vivi Bayliss came together to create this new piece of teen theatre. A Ton of Feathers was presented at NSDF 22 with support from NSDF and the LAB programme.
NOFF Review:
"Sarah is clearly an accomplished
actor and immediately gets us onside with
her charming facial expressions and comedic timing...She has me smiling and laughing from the word go."
